How to use a personalised big sibling book and certificate
A personalised big sibling book (personalized, in US spelling) tells the baby’s story with your child as the hero. Here is how to use it, with the certificate and the helper chart.
The storybook
Read it together a few times before the birth, and again after. Children love hearing their own name in a story. Stop and talk about the pages: what will the baby do? What will your child do?
The certificate
Give it at the first meeting, together with the gift “from the baby”. Hang it where your child can see it.
The helper chart
Small jobs, like bringing a nappy or choosing the baby’s clothes, help a child feel important. Add a star when they help, never a cross when they do not.
